Can We Talk About How Friggin' EXCELLENT "Break Up In The End" Is?
WIN COLE'S LATEST ALBUM AT THE BOTTOM
Cole Swindell's new song is EXCELLENT. I love Country Music...if someone asked me what my hobby is, I would tell them it's Country Music. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. With that being said, I heard A LOT of country songs that are just ok, that are good and even some that are great...but Cole's new song is one of the best I've heard in at least a decade.
The writing is a perfect, heart break, sad, depressing Country song (my favorite, fyi). The musical composition is just a good...when I heard the steel guitar near the end I lost it...finally, a REAL, SOLID, marketable Country song.
That's the key too...because there are plenty of artist's who are putting out REAL country songs (Joe Nichols new album is an example) that are good, that are really good...but they are not marketable to a mass audience that has become used to Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt (PS, no knock on either artist...I actually like them both, but you get my point right?)
With all of this being said...I remember watching Brad Paisley with "Who Need's Pictures" and Keith Urban with "Where The Blacktop Ends" and watching them go from B acts to not just A acts but the biggest stars in Country Music and there was always a defining moment or song for each artist (Kenny Chesney too for that matter). For Brad I would say it was "Alcohol"...that was the moment where you realized this guy is going to be a SUPERSTAR in Country Music for a long time.
For Keith Urban we could argue but I would say it was "Raining On Sunday" and for Kenny Chesney it should be no argument that it was "She Thinks My Tractors Sexy". That's not saying these are my favorite songs by the artist's (They are not) I'm saying these were the songs that not only were great but had the mass appeal to take them to the "NEXT LEVEL". -
"Break Up In The End" is that song for Cole Swindell. He's already a big star...he already headlines his own shows and has a gigantic following in Country Music, but this song is going to make him a mega star for years to come and I am SO excited for him.
